At Gildersome Primary we are fortunate to have a wonderful PTA who make an invaluable contribution to enriching our school. Through their numerous fundraising and social activities, such as the Christmas Fayre, Halloween Disco, Circus, Santa's Sleigh Ride and Summer Gala, they are able to provide financial support to countless activities which compliment school life.
So far this year our PTA have provided £1,500 towards our school council's playground fund. What this money will be spent on depends upon the decision of the school council itself. Though they often surprise us we are usually impressed by their decisions which show a mature and clear insight into the projects on which they working.
The PTA have also recently funded new running vests for our school's athletics teams, proudly our girls currently top the Leeds Cross-country League's table. If you haven't seen the new vests yet we hope you'll be as impressed as we were with the design our athletes chose. Our runners refer to them as, 'The cool Ajax kit'!
Not to forget the traditional values at the heart of school life, our PTA also help Santa with the arrangements for his annual visit to our infant classes. Santa has been hit hard this year by the credit crunch, but through the help of our PTA he is still able to reward our infant classes for their continued good behaviour.
