Recently we asked parents and pupils to help us decide the priorities for the 2009/10 academic year. Once again over 50% of parents completed our survey, which is a fantastic response demonstrating just how supportive many of you are. Governors and staff have now carefully evaluated the results and read all of your comments. In summary, it was clear that parents were overwhelmingly happy with the way in which the school has developed in recent years . A full report of the 2009 Parental Survey can be found by clicking the link. Of particular interest to note were the following:
The top three things that parents liked about our school.
- The positive, supportive relationships that exist between parents and staff.
- The unique range of experiences provided on Friday afternoons.
- The good attitude and behaviour of our children.
The main areas which parents would like the school to improve.
- The green ‘Portacabins’ – Fortunately, as most of you will be aware, the school has recently been awarded £2.5 million pounds to spend on creating ‘state of the art’ classrooms. Over the next few months we’ll be consulting you further regarding any suggestions which you’d like to have incorporated into the design for our re-modelled school.
- A small number of parents felt that some improvements could still be made to how homework was set. Although there were fewer comments on this topic than in last year’s survey, after which we introduced a new homework policy, we are happy to explore the subject further. We'll review the policy as soon as possible and inform you of any subsequent changes which we may feel are necessary.
At the same time as collecting the views of parents, we also asked our children what they thought about their school. Listening carefully to their views, we felt that our children would like to receive more rewards for their good behaviour. In response we’ve decided to organise a special assembly at the start of the next school year, explaining to them our new rewards scheme. We’d like to thank you once again for your positive participation in this process. Through continuing to work closely together, we can ensure that our school continues to provide the well nurtured, all-round education that our children deserve.School Meals Survey 2009 - As with other top restaurants in the city, our chefs are always keen to receive feedback from diners.
