Trust Schools

Governors of Gildersome Primary School have agreed to work with a number of other schools in the Morley Family of Schools to explore the possibility of joining them in an educational Trust.  A move to Trust status would take us out of control of Education Leeds (the Local Education Authority) and would allow us greater freedom to manage the way that our school is run.  We have secured external funding to undertake an investigation, which is at an early stage and have commenced discussions with potential partners.

As you would expect, the Governing Body are giving this matter due and appropriate consideration, and they will be consulting with staff and parents before making any decision.  Governors have agreed that we will only become part of a Trust if it is clearly in the best interests of children and that this view is supported by parents and staff.

The following Links provide some useful information on Trust and Foundation schools. The views expressed by each source should not be taken to reflect those of our school or its Governing body. The links are simply a way of sharing information on a topic which is of interest to us.
