Easter Fun

Janet Spencer (j.spencer) on: Nursery Blog

We’ve had an EGGcellent week in Nursery. We have been decorating eggs, hunting for eggs,  creating Easter bonnets, singing songs, crafting cards, making chocolate nests and we even got a visit from the Easter bunny!

We look forward to welcoming some new friends to Nursery after the Easter holidays! We hope you all have a fantastic two week school break and we will see you back at Nursery on Tuesday 19th April.

People who help us

Janet Spencer (j.spencer) on: Nursery Blog

We’ve had a busy few weeks in Nursery!
We talked about the emergency services, how they help us and when to call them. Lots of fires were put out and cats rescued from trees when we had a fire station to play in. We also looked after our friends and booked them into A&E when we began working at Gildersome hospital. We finished our people who help us topic by thinking about our families and how they help us everyday. We talked lots about our mummies and made them a special card for Mother’s Day.

Reminder: We are having an Easter fun day on Wednesday 30th March. You can decorate an Easter bonnet at home with your child so they can wear them to show their friends on the day.

Welcome Back!

Janet Spencer (j.spencer) on: Nursery Blog

What a busy first week back in Nursery! The children have loved the classroom role play area - we have some budding teachers for the future! We have also started to explore the number four in Maths. When we are writing the numeral we say "Down and across and down some more, that's the way to make a four!"

It was all things pancakes on Tuesday. The children enjoyed helping to make them but loved eating them more!

World Book Day on Thursday was lots of fun. We read lots of our favourite stories and talked about the characters we liked. The children looked amazing and had the confidence to stand up and tell everyone who they were dressed as.

Next week is all about the Emergency Services.

Note - Red Noses are now for sale in the School Office.

Lunar New Year

Janet Spencer (j.spencer) on: Nursery Blog

We celebrated the Lunar new year by reading and acting out the story of the Great Race. We made lanterns, created spotty Chinese dragons, counted pennies into lucky money wallets, watched dragon dances and moved our bodies along to the music.

Lots of lovely activities undertaken at home last week. Thank you parents and carers for supporting and encouraging your child - the variety of learning taking place is wonderful to see!
