We wish you a Merry Christmas

Janet Spencer (j.spencer) on: Nursery Blog

So much Christmassy fun has been had this week! Making decorations, creating a Nativity scene, cutting spiral trees and ordering Christmas objects.

We received a reply from Santa this week, after we sent our letters to him! He even sent us a special gift to have in Nursery!

What a cracking Christmas party! We danced, played festive games, made decorations, coloured pictures, watched the video of our schools Christmas songs and even had a social distanced visit from Santa!

Christmas fun

Janet Spencer (j.spencer) on: Nursery Blog

This week we have gone Christmas crazy! We have been writing letters to Santa, designing Christmas jumpers, printing and painting christmas pictures and making special calendars ready for next year.

Reminder: Our Christmas party is on Wednesday 16th December. Children can come in their party clothes and we ask that they bring a treat to eat in a named box or bag.

Weather and seasons

Janet Spencer (j.spencer) on: Nursery Blog

This week we have been thinking about the different seasons. The children have enjoyed singing lots of weather rhymes, exploring ice, feeling the snow and creating rain makers.

Christmas arrived in Nursery on Friday! The children loved decorating the tree and making their own baubles.

Reminder: Nursery are having their Christmas jumper day on Wednesday 9th December.

5 Little Ducks

Janet Spencer (j.spencer) on: Nursery Blog

This week in Nursery we have been focusing on the Nursery rhyme '5 little ducks'. The children have had lots of fun counting ducks and matching to the correct numeral, making nests for the ducks, painting different ducks and using craft materials to decorate ducks.

Christmas is fast approaching and we are now starting to practise some Christmas songs. Please look out on Tapestry for clips of our wonderful singing in the next few weeks.

The Wheels on the Bus

Janet Spencer (j.spencer) on: Nursery Blog

Welcome back! We hope you are all well after isolating! We are excited to carry on with some lovely learning this half term.

This week we have continued to explore our Nursery Rhyme topic with ‘The wheels on the bus.’ The children have enjoyed helping to make a bus to go on adventures and sing along as we drive! We have also been busy drawing buses, painting buses, counting passengers on and off the bus and using box craft to create our own buses. The children have loved practising the wheels on the bus dance routine this week - maybe they would like to have a go at home this weekend? Search for Dance n Beats - The Wheels on the Bus.

To join in with anti-bullying week we have made friendship bracelets at the finger gym table and have talked about how we can be kind to our friends in Key Worker groups. The children had lots of good ideas and have shown lots of kind behaviour towards each other throughout the week.

Please remember that next week there is a Training Day on Friday 27th November.

Wonderful Work!

Anna Head (a.head) on: Nursery Blog - 2019-20

We continue to be amazed at what the Nursery children are doing at home. Thank you to all the parents and carers that are continuing to make learning fun, creative and engaging. It is lovely to see so many photos on Tapestry. Here is another selection...
