Janet Spencer (j.spencer) on: Nursery Blog

We have enjoyed a variety of activities this week. We have talked about bonfire night and how to keep safe. We have learnt 2 new bonfire rhymes - I wonder if the children can remember the words and actions at home? Our bonfire and firework pictures have been amazing this week too. We have enjoyed playing outside this week as the weather has been kind - lots of fun with the parachute on Wednesday and also watching the digger all week! We have made a list of the Nursery Rhymes we already know and have started to listen (and dance!) to others. We have really enjoyed completing jigsaws this week too - we are getting really good at them!

Halloween Fun!

Janet Spencer (j.spencer) on: Nursery Blog

The children have had lots of fun exploring the Halloween activities this week. We have completed the skeleton jigsaw, rescued spiders from a web, made spooky crafts, carved a pumpkin and so much more!

Our Halloween party was FANGtastic on Wednesday. We played games, iced biscuits and did lots of dancing!

We hope you enjoy the half term break and we will see you back at Nursery on Monday 2nd November.

Monkey Puzzle

Janet Spencer (j.spencer) on: Nursery Blog

We have been reading the book Monkey Puzzle this week. The Nursery has gone animal mad! We have been painting animals, making symmetrical butterflies, completing animal jigsaws, building zoos outside and drawing pictures of animals and our mummies. We have also been thinking about what to do if we ever got lost like the monkey does in the story.

The number blocks have been helping us count objects and recognise our numbers!

Reminder: Children can come to Nursery dressed up for our Halloween fun day on Wednesday 21st October.

Our Families

Janet Spencer (j.spencer) on: Nursery Blog

We have been thinking about our families this week. We have talked about who we live with and other members of our families. Thank you for sending lots of lovely family photos for the children to enjoy and talk about.

The children have been busy washing babies in the water tray, being imaginative with the doll's house, gluing and sticking furniture in the correct rooms and hanging the washing out!

The children have painted some wonderful self portraits this week!

Thank you to Year 6 for our lovely cards, very kind of you to think of us!

The Colour monster

Janet Spencer (j.spencer) on: Nursery Blog

We have been thinking about our feelings this week. We have read the colour monster again and talked about the colours. The children have enjoyed painting their own monsters, colouring and sticking monsters and sorting the coloured pom poms.

Thank you for collecting lots of fantastic Autumn objects. We have enjoyed talking about them and exploring how they look and feel.

Please keep sending your family photos in ready for us to look at next week.

Reminder: Individual school photographs will be taken in school time on Tuesday 6th October.

Writing numerals

Anna Head (a.head) on: Nursery Blog - 2019-20

Hello,

I can see lots of children are writing numerals at home. I thought I'd share the number rhymes we use in school to help with the correct formation.

Happy writing everyone
