Homework

Hello!
A few parents have enquired about setting extra homework each week.
At the moment we set per week:
15 Minutes of reading per night
A maths activity
A literacy activity
5 spellings (fornightly)
A topic homework (ongoing over 3 weeks)
We feel these tasks are sufficient, as your children are having a very content heavy curriculum during the day.
If however you would like extra work for your children please ask your child to visit the following websites:
BBC Bitesize
These sites will offer lots of activities to support your child.
Many thanks,
Miss Roclawski and Mr Reid
History Detectives

Last week year 6 put their detective hats on and investigated what life was really like for our troops in the French and Belgium trenches.
We presented them with "source packs" filled with primary and secondary sources.
The pupils then had to read and hunt for clues in the sources to complete their own "Tommy Guide To The Trenches."
Everyone worked incredibly and loved investigating and searching for clues!

On Friday, Year 6 were looking at some SATs-style questions with their partners. We looked at each question and worked together to explain how to work out the answer.
