We want our children to be scientists. Wherever possible they need to be active participants in the lesson. Science lessons should be practical, hands on, investigative and fun. Every science lesson should have a demonstration or practical activity and the outdoor and indoor environments should be used to their full potential.
The children should be encouraged to predict, observe, describe and experiment; to take risks and have a go. They should be able to talk scientifically, make links and explain their knowledge.
