Reception and junior places at primary school (September 2023) are offered from 8am on Monday 17 April 2023. You need to accept your offer with the school directly.

Welcome to reception 

We would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to Gildersome Primary School.  We are very proud of our school and our Early Years provision which was rated "Good" in our recent OFSTED inspection. 

We know that deciding where to send your child to school can often be difficult but hopefully this page to give you a quick overview of our Early Years Provision and provide you with all the information you need should you chose to start your child's school journey with us.

apply for a school place for September 2023

Please have a look at our admissions page for all the information on where and how to apply for a place in Reception for September 2023.  If your child was born between 1 September 2018 and 31 August 2019, they are due to start primary school in September 2023.  You can apply from 1 November 2022. The deadline to apply is 15 January 2023.

If you have missed the deadline for applying for a Reception place, please ring Leeds Admissions on 0113 2224414 and they will be able to help you.

FORMS TO BE COMPLETED

Please click the links below to provide us with all the information we need to prepare for your child to start school in September.  It is essential that all three of these forms are completed as soon as possible. You should have received a letter about each of the forms below in your introductory email from the school.  If not these letters can be found in the Key Documents section on this page.

SCHOOL MEALS AND MILK

All children from Reception to Year 2 are entitled to a school meal free of charge under the government Universal Infant Free School Meal scheme.  

Children up to the age of 5 are also entitled to a free 189ml carton of milk each day.  Once your child turns 5 they can continue to receive a carton of milk for a small charge (currently in the region of £18.00 per term).  This is payable through Cool Milk.  If your child qualifies for 'means tested' free school meals then they will also receive milk free of charge.
