Outdoor PE

Hello Everyone, 

You will have noticed that your children are coming home some Wednesdays in a pretty muddy state. 

We are having to do our outdoor PE session on our school field, as we have nowhere else to do it. The playground is taken up by afternoon breaks for the pupils in KS1.

When the field is particularly wet we will not use it, however, if it is a little muddy we are using it as normal.

Yesterday some children in Y5 ran a 5k across the field, it was slightly muddy but not as bad as usual. 

We came out to cheer them on and afterwards the children asked if we could have a go on the course. 

We said yes, but explained that they should not be throwing themselves in the mud. Inevitably, some children slipped and got quite muddy, but most importantly we had a lot of fun. 

All the children had the chance to run the track more than once (optionally) and the majority of them jumped at the chance. 

On a Wednesday your child may come home quite muddy after PE, until we have use of another area we will not be able to do a lot about this. 

All the pupils, without exception, had an incredible time and were so happy. 

We encourage the children to try new things and make the most of our outdoor space. We understand this will result in extra washing for you on a Wednesday and can only apologise.
